Camping!

Having a new baby has made it harder for me and my amazing husband Jonathon to get out and do fun and relaxing activities like we used to. So we have decided to improve our quality of life (and quality of marriage) by making an effort to get out as a family and do something special on each of his weekends. This week we decided to take Cadence camping! Well, really it was fake camping... because we didn't stay over night. We'll save that adventure for when Cadence is a little older. But we still pitched a tent (for naps and play time out of the elements), packed a picnic dinner, went on a hike (ok really we took a walk with the stroller on the paved road, but it was still fun), enjoyed a few brews, lit a campfire, and roasted marshmallows! It was the most relaxing and fun day we have had as a family in a very long time! And the best part? Coming home to sleep in our own beds. Genius. Enjoy some cutie pie pics of our day excursion!

  2. Got to get out there and keep up the marriage and family-building activities. Even if it was fake camping, it totally still counts because you had s'mores.

  3. @Laura we went out to Erwin park. We checked it out for the first time a few weeks ago, expecting it to be a regular park and found campsites with fire pits! So we immediately started planning a return trip!
@Natalie, I completely agree! If there's beer and s'mores, it's camping. End of story. =)
